The restaurant located in the Roma neighborhood in Mexico City has a modern concept and offers a complete Mexican gastronomical experience, transporting you to both states in the country.

When you try out their dishes you can immediately perceive the diversity of flavors and ingredients Mexico offers. While the specialty in Baja California or “Baja” as Americans call it is fish and seafood. Oaxaca on the other hand is well known for its dishes with ingredients such as chocolate, mezcal and grasshoppers. For the main course, although this dish is not Oaxacan or from Baja California, I strongly suggest getting the pappardelle pasta with pesto, sundried tomatos and nuts, this pasta was just oustanding! The lemon chicken with mashed potatoes was also delicious, its one of the best mashed potatoes I have ever tried!

Mateo is the perfect restaurant to enjoy good food with friends in an unpretentious atmosphere, for either lunch or dinner.
