The restaurant, located inside the W Mexico City, where design and style meet fashion, offers guests a delicious Spanish cuisine, with new and innovative dishes, surprising in every way.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a list of the eight things you didn\u2019t know about J by Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s, hoping you fall in love with the chef, as well as with his exquisite dishes:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4981\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_4895-1.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"428\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s arrived in Latin America<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>J by Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s is the first restaurant named after this famous chef. It also worth noting that this is the first place of Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s outside the United States. Even though they seem normal at first sight, as soon as you spoon this into your mouth, an olive-flavored liquid explodes, a spectacular experience, and one of the dishes that have surprised me the most this year!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4979\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/vsco-photo-2.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"653\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are no rimmed glasses<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The chef dislikes serving drinks in rimmed glasses at his restaurants, as he finds it odd to mix those textures. On one of his trips to the beach, he was inspired by the foam of the sea, and thus decided to include it in his recipes. Since then, the margaritas he serves include a salty \u201csea foam\u201d as a substitute for the salt rimming.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Fan of Gin and Tonic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The favorite drink of chef Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s is Gin and Tonic, so much so that he decided to include that flavor in a variety of dishes on the menu. Don\u2019t miss the Gin and Tonic oysters: 6 oysters with Hendricks gin, tonic water and lemon, or conclude your meal with \u201cJos\u00e9\u2019s Gin and Tonic\u201d for dessert, an ice cream in that flavor with a tonic water and lemon foam\u2026 a delight!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4982\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/IMG_4791-1.jpg\" width=\"650\" height=\"430\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jos\u00e9\u2019s shoe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At J by Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s, the croquettes, whether made of ham, chicken or oxtail, are served in the chef\u2019s acrylic shoe. The design of this shoe was created by Sami Hayek, brother of famous Mexican actress, Salma Hayek.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4983\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/vsco-photo-3.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"733\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spain meets Mexico<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The restaurant offers dishes that have been especially created for Mexico, called \u201cSpain meets Mexico\u201d, combining authentic and iconic ingredients from both countries. These include the traditional Mexican \u201c<em>torta<\/em>\u201d in a Spanish roll, and melted Spanish cheeses; and his own version of \u201c<em>chile<\/em> <em>en nogada<\/em>\u201d, better known as \u201c<em>piquillos en nogada y hoja santa<\/em>\u201d with pork, fresh fruits, the nogada sauce, and <em>hoja santa<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4984\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/vsco-photo-1.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"736\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paella from pasta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>One of the restaurant\u2019s iconic dishes is the \u201crossejat negra\u201d, a traditional paella made with pasta, squid ink and shrimp. Legend has it that the chef was on a cruise and had to prepare paella, but only then noticed he had forgotten the rice. The only ingredient he found was pasta, and thus created this exquisite version of paella.<\/p>\n<p>J by Jos\u00e9 Andr\u00e9s is the perfect restaurant for a romantic date, or to meet with friends who enjoy food.
