During this time, the group has opened eight innovative culinary concepts, in addition to the original Tori Tori, including Aguamiel, Dietrich, and Fratelli La Bufala.\u00a0Consolidating as an important restaurant group with great success in Mexico City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-5515\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/2017-02-23-PHOTO-00000029.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"821\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Urban Folk\u2019s new project is indubitably a great challenge, now working on one of the most coveted corners on Paseo de la Reforma in Lomas de Chapultepec. Throughout the years, this site has been the venue of a variety of concepts, from an ice cream shop, a Japanese restaurant, and then two different Italian restaurants, ultimately becoming a site that serves only the best fish and seafood. Piedra Sal is the group\u2019s new culinary proposal, located next door to famous Loma Linda. An opening much commented by the area\u2019s neighbors, who have been intrigued by which restaurant will take this corner next.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-5516 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG_1139.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"681\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Upon entering this new site, you\u2019ll be impressed by its architecture and design; a vast terrace with plenty of natural light, high wooden ceilings, hanging lamps, and a semi-circular bar right at the center of the restaurant. All this creates a casual atmosphere that makes you feel outdoors. The entire project was headed by Ver\u00f3nica Gonz\u00e1lez Zavala from VGZ architecture firm, who successfully designed an ideal site where to have a great time with your friends and family. Quite surprising for her first restaurant project!<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s move on to what we most fancy, the food! The menu was designed by renowed chef Jos\u00e9 Manuel Ba\u00f1os, founder of Pitiona in Oaxaca. He decided the restaurant\u2019s name: Piedra Sal, two essential elements in the kitchen. Ba\u00f1os tells us he used to cook with a stone from a very young age, as it enhances the flavor of food.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5517\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5517\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-5517\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG_1140.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"683\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5517\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tuna Tostada<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The menu will be constantly changing, depending on the ingredients they receive daily. The idea is for guests to select oysters, clams, shrimp, lobster, and other products from the cold bar. When walking up to this area, you\u2019ll clearly perceive the quality and freshness of fish and seafood\u2026 so much so, that the lobsters are still moving!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5525\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5525\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-5525\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG_0678.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"697\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5525\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Grilled Octopus<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the rest of its cuisine, from what we tried, our most-loved dishes were the tuna, avocado and cucumber tostada, which will surely become one of the favorites; the grilled octopus with potatoes and black rice with squid, spring onion, and crunchy corn provide a perfect combination. If you\u2019re one of those who can\u2019t finish a meal without something sweet, the winning dessert was the banana and caramel pie. We\u2019re already planning our next visit to try everything we missed!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5518\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5518\" style=\"width: 550px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-5518\" src=\"https:\/\/www.michelleonbell.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/IMG_1141.jpg\" width=\"550\" height=\"631\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5518\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Banana and caramel pie<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Piedra Sal is the perfect terrace where to enjoy excellent fish and seafood on a sunny afternoon.
